This covered deck was built in Des Moines, Iowa in 2024 and blends modern design with natural warmth. It features TimberTech composite decking, a partially covered space with an open gable roof, and ADI Oasis cable railing for a sleek, open look. The cedar ceiling adds character and comfort, making this a perfect spot to relax or entertain.

TimberTech Composite Decking

We used TimberTech Prime+ decking in Sea Salt Gray for a clean, coastal-inspired look. The subtle grain pattern and cool-toned color bring a light, modern feel to the space while offering low-maintenance durability.

ADI Oasis Cable Railing
This project features ADI’s Oasis cable railing system, which provides a sleek, open look while maintaining safety. The horizontal stainless steel cables keep sightlines clear and complement the modern style of the deck.
Rough Cedar Pergola
A custom rough cedar pergola was built over the deck, providing partial shade and architectural interest. It adds a natural element that blends well with the composite decking.
Open Gable Patio Cover
A custom open gable patio cover was built over half of the deck, creating a comfortable shaded area without blocking light or airflow. The exposed gable design adds architectural interest and enhances the overall style.
Cedar Tongue & Groove Ceiling
We finished the underside of the patio cover with cedar tongue and groove boards, adding warmth and a natural touch to the covered portion of the deck. The cedar ceiling contrasts beautifully with the gray decking for a clean, upscale look.
